Measurements covered include train external noise, vehicle internal noise, and sound levels from horns and other audible warning devices.


  GM/RC2520 January 1996 1 Design Code of Practice: Noise and Pollution from New Railway Vehicles
This code of practice provides design guidance on the maximum acceptable levels of external noise that should emanate from new railway vehicles under prescribed test conditions. Additionally, guidance on limiting other forms of pollution to acceptable levels is given, including exhaust gases from diesel engines, toilet effluent, and other pollutants.
